One striking feature about old Hollywood is how tidy the sets are. It's so unbelievably clean. I read an online essay that suggests that the orderliness and cleanliness is a reflection of how organized and efficient the studio system is. Even the stars were so gorgeous; I can't forget Lana Turner's blond hair still fixed and looking lovely after a car accident in "The Bad and the Beautiful".

This is no different from Bollywood Cinema. I haven't seen so many films yet, but I'm certain of it. I don't need essays to back up my claim.

The only difference is how attractive and striking a Bollywood film is. I like what the actresses wear; their dresses is unmistakenly India and it certainly made me forget to be critical about the film's shortcomings. Of course, the song-and-dance numbers are not to be missed. At first, I wondered why many Bollywood filmmakers put too much highlight on these scenes. It took me a few movies to realize that this is what Bollywood is essentially is. It made me overlook the running time (which is more than two hours). Plus the fact that there isn't really a story to begin with.

It's no different from Hollywood though. Furthermore, when compared to a blockbuster picture, a Bollywood movie is more substantial. Enough said.
